About Me

About Moi...

I have been an avid and growing feminist since I was probably nine, and I have been a dietitian since 2014. In the years I have been in the dietetic industry, I definitely know that we need more feminist dietitians out there, which is where I come in!

I believe health, is above all, about self-love. We want to do best by our bodies, so that we can live as long as possible with as high a quality of life as possible. This benefits ourselves, our families, and our community.  Health can NOT come from hating your body, hating your weight, or hating your choices.  Most health care aspects, especially in regards to weight loss do NOT stem from self-love and I am working to change that here and now.

I have struggled with my weight, and health since about 2008.  I was gaining weight, and no matter what I did, I still kept gaining weight.  This lead to a cycle of hating myself, and negative body image that I still struggle with to this day.  It was only after I decided to love my body for what it was, that I was able to finally start making changes that worked for me, that were good for me, and that benefitted me.  I am now 35 lbs lighter, I've tried more vegetables in the past year than I have my whole life, and I am more mindful when I eat which helps me to enjoy and appreciate everything I eat from broccoli, to ice cream.

So many of us struggle with having a healthy relationship with food, ourselves, and our weight. I think every body can enjoy optimal health, and I believe all foods can be present in a healthy diet.

True health cannot come from hating ourselves, we must approach our health with love, acceptance and patience.
